Mark Zuckerburg. I'm sure some of you guys have heard the name before, but for those of you who don't you better get to know who he is. This is the guy that created one of the things that has become very much embedded in our lives; that is Facebook.
It's nothing short of mind-blowing how this guy took a very simple idea (regardless of how he got the idea) about something that is at the core of what makes us human, that is socialization, and in essence revolutionized the way we interact with friends and family. It has reached the point that for many of us logging in to Facebook has become second nature, almost like breathing. The impact this website has made and is continuing to make on the world is beyond what most of us could honestly imagine.
People like Mark are the ones that really inspire me and reinforces my believe that the Creator is truly limitless and therefore he/she gave each of us minds that while very much varied, they all possess a remarkable capacity to think and create and manipulate. Therefore we should stop believing that there is a limit on the things we can conceive as human race and stop allowing ourselves to be further conditioned into this foolish thinking that all we can use our minds to do is pass tests which some "smart" persons decided to set as standards for being "intelligent". Can you imagine how much wonderful minds with viable thoughts and ideas we might have wasted because of this system and the way it attaches stigma to and puts at a disadvantage those who don't pass those "standards"?? While that system has much merit there is no one track or no one best way to success or making an impact in this life. I'm realizing more and more that the ones who really leave their mark (no pun intended) on the world are those who push the envelope, think outside of the box, go against or push beyond conventional wisdom and who act upon their core competencies and ideas no matter how far fetched.
After saying ALL that, here is Mark Zuckerberg on 60 minutes being interviewed about his creation and more. Very inspiring and I thought I'd share, Enjoy!
